I had the opportunity to go with my friend and her family to Magic Kingdom for the day! OMG! So exciting and wonderful. I am posting some of my favorite pics of the entrance! I think I am going to be blogging a lil about my experience and some of the fun stuff I got to do. I will add the pics as I go! It was such a blessing and I am so grateful to my husband and friends for making it happen.

Graceworks in honor on Nana!

So this Saturday, Maya and I volunteered at Graceworks. A great organization in Franklin that helps people who have needs. Stuff like food, money, diapers, etc. My mom volunteered there often before she passed. When I heard about a mom and daughter outing with my home school group to volunteer, I jumped at the chance. It was such a joy to serve with my oldest daughter. She really has a servants heart, she was so excited and engaged. We are absolutely going to do it again.

One thing that blew me away was how amazingly giving my mom was. Its hard to look back and realize how much I missed honoring my mom for her heart. She gave till it hurt. She really was such an amazing mom and human. I know Maya felt the honor of serving where she served and standing in the gap for her. Maya is filling the spot my mom left open. Wow, really blessed.

Instead of ranting on social networks, like I may want to, remember my name is Gaby! I am going to share those things beside Yuengling and vanilla ice cream that keep me focused and smiling.

When I first changed my life, there was an album I listened to over and over. Many people may not even know her name. The album was Crystal Lewis', The Bride and it really encouraged me and helped me to think in a different mind space about my life. Here are the lyrics to one of my favorites and is SO helpful on days like this.

So, I promised more posts and updates about how things are going. Well, home school is not what I expected. Better in some ways! Love that all subjects are teaching moments for life and how God /our beliefs relate. Harder in some ways! Grades, cheer leading all day to get them to get work done & MATH + Gaby = not so much :(. Overall, really blessed by this stage in our family experience.

One great thing is being able to target some things the kids want to try out. See if this is their calling/ purpose. Maya LOVES "Cake Boss" and all cake decorating shows. Actually, loves Food network, so that includes cupcakes, desserts and Paula Deen. So for Christmas, she was gifted some fondant. She made a cake for a meal with some great friends, the McPhersons! It included things that she loved, Disney and Star Wars. Here are some pics of the two day process.

A New Beginning!

So its been a while, I have been working and working and working a lil more. Well that is all about to ... change. Well, not completely, but I will be working one job and home school Maya and Quinn. This will be a very interesting journey. I always thought home schooling to be something for very specific children and cases. Never considered it as an option for myself. Been noticing that whenever I say or even think, "I will never do that". I end up doing it. So going to try to not think or say that anymore. Wait, I am thinking I will never go to Hawaii! Sigh! NO GO! Figures. Anyway, going to try to keep a log of all the great adventures we have schooling in La Casa Robbins! The Mexish Academy for DJ's or the Irexican Academy for ... ok I quit. The goal is to help my lil lovies see what God has given them to do in their futures. Prepare them for whatever calling God sees fit. Prayerfully we will have some fun and spend some time really being a family. Who knows, maybe I will learn all the stuff I missed in school the first time around. Whoop Whoop!

Well there are a few random pic's of the kids I wanted to share.
Maya is looking so big and beautiful in this picture. She even had the wind working with her. She is really doing great in school and is so helpful at home. She did a cheerleading clinic with the local high school cheer team. She is performing with them this week. I think she has caught the performing bug.
Quinn is all boy, but so sweet. He is really enjoying school. He is still not used to being there for five days a week. He asks every morning, "Is it a school day today?" He is really excited about inviting all his school friends to his 6th birthday party. I think we may be bowling!!!!
Shayne.... she is two. A strong willed two. From what I am told, from Ric's sister, she is just like Daddy was when he was two. So we know who to blame. :) But she is the funniest difficult girl I know. She loves temporary tattoos, I think this may be a sign of another thing in common with Daddy. Look where her and Daddy put this Care bare TAT.
Overall, we are truly a rich, rich family.

We were blessed in July to get two beautiful babies girls added to our life. I watch baby Makayla a few days a week. She is such a cutie! We also got a great new Indian friend named Karisma. Shayne, Quinn and Maya love the new lil baby girls. Here are a couple pics of our babies.

Harvest

So the kids had Harvest parties at their schools, but the real fun was at our church. We got to play games and get candy as prizes. Our cousin Makayla came to play with us at the church too. She had to leave early, she was dressed as a tootsie roll, so we were worried some one try to take a bite. :) Maya wore the cheer uniform I wore in middle school and her best friend Leah wore one too. Quinn was Boba Fett, he and Dad's favorite Star Wars character. Shayne was a clown, she wore a costume Nana Meza made for her dress up box. We also had a great party in the neighborhood with hot chocolate and smores. It was so much fun. Maya & Quinn carved their own pumpkins this year. Shayne had a little help. It was a great Harvest.

So it has been way too long since I have updated this. I am really going to try to keep updating for friends and family who are out of town. I am going to start with Hey Day pictures. This is the PTO event I help with at the kids school. It was very successful and the kids had fun.

Well, today I took my lil boy to his first day of Kindergarten. It is really getting hard to understand how quickly the time goes by. He is so excited and really ready to take this step. I am not too sentimental, I am not crying or wailing like some. But it is hard seeing him off for a day with out Mom, Dad and Shayne. Maya started third grade, heavy backpacks and assignment books. Thinking about my third grade year keeps me on my knees for her. Keep my girly in your prayers, she is a leader, but wow. Shayne will begin preschool next week. And there will go my monkey princess off to class. The whole Robbins crew gone from our home two days a week. Wow, I am getting old and maybe a bit more sentimental.

Disney 2008

So, going to Florida in mid July with three kids could be a disaster. But, our God is so good! We had the most amazing Disney vacation ever. It was so good to get away with just us five. Spend time and have fun. It is really fun to see the three kids get enjoyment out of Disney at all their different ages. Maya is a roller coaster queen, the faster the better. Quinn loves the make believe of it all. Shayne loved the characters and has no fear on rides. Ric loved the Star wars store at the end of Star Tours. I loved to see the whole crew having fun together. Gosh I am getting old and corny. But it is completely true. We are so grateful God made a way for a vacation this summer. Can't wait to go back to Disney!

We had some fun in the pool in the backyard this week! Shayne loves Maya's goggles. She is having a great time playing with the big kids in the pool. Its amazing how much fun you can have with a $20 pool from Walmart! Ahhh, the simple things. :)

Quinn finished his first Season as a Spring Hill RED! He and Daddy did an amazing job. They got to the second game of the tournament. Papa Robbins came in from Cincy to see him. Nana Meza, Auntie Nay, Auntie Ces, Uncle Guido, Uncle Tommy, Jordie, Rocki and our crew were all there to support him at his tournament too. He did a great job and really improved during the season. He wants to play drums next! EEK!

Q is a graduate!!! Well from Preschool!

He has achieved his first education milestone! Graduating from Preschool. He was really excited, but a lil sad to leave his class and friends behind. He will be in the same school as some of his classmates, but he was still a lil bummed. Sentimental like his mommy :). I am proud to announce that Quinn has decided what he would like to be when he grows up. It was announced by the head of the preschool during the graduation ceremony. "Quinn Robbins will be attending the local Elementary and would like to be a Spy and a dentist when he grows up." To which the audience clapped and laughed for quite a while. Dad asked why the combo of the two. He said that being a spy was obviously cool. And he wanted to be a dentist cause like at our dentist office he would like to also have TV's in the ceiling and games in the waiting room. Yes, friends and family, Quinn will change the world one spy case and tooth at a time.

Well, I have noticed that there is a lil bit of our family that has not been seen much here in the Family Blog. My lil Irish princess, Shayne. She put on her first dress of Spring this week. (Made by our amazing friend Liz Eskridge) She is our spanish speaker in the family. She has a hard crush on Diego and has picked up a ton from him. She loves her chocolate milk and her Daddy. She is a singer, loves to sing a long to any tune, even if she doesn't know the words. She will be two in July!!!!

On April 12, Ric and I celebrated our 11 th Anniversary!!!!! I can truly say, when God makes your partner, He really knows what you need. He is an amazing friend, husband & Daddy. I really, truly could not ask for anything more. We celebrated as a family and we felt it was a celebration of our union and all the amazing gifts it has created. WE ARE BLESSED!!!!!!

So for Maya's eighth we had a spa party!!! Nails, primping, glitter and decorating flip flops! Chocolate covered strawberries and finger foods were requested by Maya. We had fun!

Nana Meza bought the girls their dresses this year. And Papa Robbins bought Quinn his Easter shirt. Quinn said he thought he looked like his Uncle Verbs. So fresh & so clean!!! Maya really understood what Easter meant this year. Her being baptized has really opened her heart. It was a great day!

She did it, she has made the most important step in her life. It is just the beginning, but she is on the road. We couldn't be prouder of her. She really gets it and has a heart to know God. We are so blessed to have her as our daughter!
